“The Route of the Antelope”

The Powder River & Chugwater Ry, a freelanced HO scale point to point layout, from Laurel Montana, to Columbine Colorado. The Ry traverses the state of Wyoming through the Powder River Coal Basin, Chugwater, and the Medicine Bow Mountains.  Operating era is the mid 1990’s.

Staging yards are located in Laurel and Columbine. The PR&C main classification yard is located in Chugwater WY.  This thriving metropolis is home to Chugwater Chili, a major shipper/receiver on the PR&C.  The PR&C is well known for its leg of the “Chili Run Through” a hot shot “Z” train of famous Chugwater Chili, “the gourmet spice of western life”.

A secondary branch line, serving the southern end of Wyoming, is under construction, and will provide service to an ethanol production facility, a Public Service plant, a meat packer, and other shippers.

Operational control is provided by Digitrax, route control is by computerized dispatching using CATS (Crandic Automated Traffic System) Centralized Traffic Control Software, and communication is by FRS.
